After the sister arc, there is a road trip arc that can feel like filler, but it let's them explore the world and show how Earth is being affected by the alien invasion, while also giving time to fill in Blade and Evil's backstory. It also allows the series to play with older classic sci-fi tropes. While not as good as the sister arc, by the time they get to Alaska, things start ramping back up like sister arc.

Tekkaman Blade 2 gets a lot of hate because it's more like a typical anime with an annoying moeblob as the lead. But that's only for the first three episodes. The second three episode is more interesting with Dead and David. Plus Tekkaman Blade 2 has Tekkaman Aki, and I can't hate Tekkaman Aki.
