I got more work done on John Matrix today. Right now it's looking like Matrix is gonna beat Rambo to the finish line. Those shotgun shells were a pain to scratch build and my fingertips hate me right now, but they got the job done. I still need to sculpt the assault rifle magazine pouches on the other side of his vest and add the buck knife sheath. After that it'll be ready to paint, and I can add the zipper and webbing. Some of his loadout is a bit oversized but I'm looking at this as kind of a playful G.I. Joe caricature of John Matrix rather than obsessing over 100% screen accuracy because if I did, it would not only be way more work but the big gear makes him look more in scale with my other figures.
One other thing I need to do before painting starts is I want to trim off the wristband on his right hand for a little more screen accuracy, and I hope I can put together some kind of watch face to go on the right hand. I'm not sure what exactly would be a good way to make that although worst case scenario, I can scratch sculpt it out of greenstuff, but I don't think that'll give me the clean machined look I want.
On a side note, once Mole Rat comes out I'll probably swap the boots on him since Mole Rat's got the same legs, but with laced boots.
