So I bought the knockoff Mafex Spiderman (75) and I just got it today.
The only Mafex I own is Wolverine, so I can't be certain what exactly was part of the design and what flaws were corners cut by the manufacturer.
Starting off, the box looks okay. There isn't that hologram sticker and the inner trays are cocooned in tape. This dude was thrown in there like a negative pregnancy test into the trash. Upon opening it, I notice a few things. First, it's missing the right "relaxed" hand, but whatever. The Peter parker head is the stuff of nightmares, and the toy STINKS. It smells like Chinese petroleum.
The black wash applied to the figure came off on my fingers (after a lot of handling) and highlights every mold line and sprue mark, but that wound up being a good thing in some cases. I should have tossed this guy in a hot water bath first thing, but frankly I was afraid that the wash would... wash off.
