Asked one of em and they say they're just collectors but collectors dont buy 8 of the same hotwheel or every box of 1 type of pokemon card box and every lego set that was recently marked down.
Apparently they're going to every target, walmart, walgreens, and cvs in the morning every single day and attempting to buy anything remotely collectible.
