>>10030972Mecha IP's seem tricky, new ones don't seem to do well with simultaneous merch lately. New ones even as a hit seems too niche. Strategy will be to wait a little to test popularity or go with the big names like Evangelion. Eva have lots of area to cover still (TV, Angels) but like most big names there are always new competitors.
Popular but difficult designs to articulate would be the sweet spot like what Buster Machine Dix-Neuf was when Revo came out. Doing Nagoi Super Robots with all the engendering tricks from AY would be dream come true. If we could get pic type of thick tube classic robots with articulation that can do this I think people will buy. Doing 2's and 3's of Getters would be rare too so might perform well. Fembots like Aphrodite A with Yamguchi sculpt would be next level IMO. Gurren Lagann isn't a bad IP too if they can get far enough to the side character Ganmens. Kaiyodo now loves IP that they can milk multiple characters.
