So some of you may remember me toying with the idea of japan using a heavy modified version of a german tank a few months backs. I’ve come across a bit of info about japan purchasing a Panzer IIIL and a Panzer IIIN in late 42/early 43 with the intention of reverse engineering them. The vehicles where apparently resold to germany for a number of conflicting reasons, but I’m thinking about a scenario where japan goes through with this idea and I just wanted to ask anyone that would care what you would think the alterations the japanese would make and how would it be different to a standard pziii
Here are a few of the alterations/ specifications that made sense to me
>leaning more towards the L version as a half ass attempt at a tank killer
>deletion of most turret details including commanders cupola and side doors on the turret replacing them with a single hinge hatch similar to that on a soviet tank like a BT or T-34
>deletion of rear turret basket
>possible rear turret mounted MG
>no add on armor for faster and cheaper production
>simplified engine deck hatches
Just some of the things I thought the japanese might alter on thier version of a pziii
Made up working name for this ((((variant)))) is Foreign design type III
