Made some more casts, dumping a blogpost.
Decided to do Dalu's mask first, turned out better than the mahiki axle masks seem much stronger.
Messed around with some pigments, hopefully eventually I'll be able to replicate some lego colours but that seems pretty tricky.
The protector foot is the best cast I've made so far, some bubbles on the bottom but that's it. CCBS sockets are stronger even in resin.
Hand piece(nuva) is a nightmare to make a mould out of, I've made 3 sperate moulds and all 3 failed, may just give up and try a fist instead.
I left an arm piece connected to a ball joint on my desk for a few days, when i first tested it the friction seemed fine but when i came back to it there was 0 friction, it would just freely wobble around. I'm hoping this is because the resin wasn't 100% cured, so when i left it the socket was pushed sideward ever so slightly causing the jankeyness. Any piece I cast with a socket will be left for at least 72 hours before testing.
Made a mould for a body, one in the picture had a ball joint snap out when taking it out of the mould so it's just glued back on, not really usable. Have one in the mould I'm going to leave overnight before taking it out to let it cure a bit more.
