my biggest regret is buying the Galaxy's Edge Millennium Falcon. the idea or illusion that something is rare and valuable can easily short circuit my decision making skills. fast forward a few months, and I got so sick of having that giant ship in the middle of my room I shoved it in my closet.
I regret getting something more for its rarity than its inherent value. It was actually "complete the team" compulsion that got me there. I backed the Mandalorian Haslab, and figured "I should get the rest of the Star Wars ships I liked". And in that immediate moment, it was really fun having a goal. It's like collecting Pokemon, or checking off items in a scavenger hunt. It adds extra flavor. But it's so temporary and in my case the financial costs were stupidly high.
