So the canonization contests are finally starting tomorrow (or today depending on your zone, I guess). I can say I'm both worried and excited for them. Helryx is not one I'm worried about however.
From what I gather it should go like this:
>Helryx, Artakha and Tuyet get two contests, a MOCing one to build their body and an art one to decide their Kanohi and weapon designs
>The four Hagah, Varian, Nidhiki and Greg's OC Trio get only one building contest
>Ditto for Lariska, Golden Skinned Fusion and Marendar (unsurprisingly)
>3D prints, G2 masks and HF helmets are allowed, Hydraxon's and Maxilos's faceplates too IIRC
I missed out a few threads so I don't know what's the general sentiment here. I'm ambivalent and I suppose I'm not the only one. I think the rules for the first and third group are fine, it's the second one I'm puzzled about.
No issues at all for Nidhiki, Chiara and Varian.
Looks like anything goes for the Hagah quartet, since the "mask shape doesn't equal power" rule that Norik introduced is in full effect. So if a Bomonga with a Faxon wins, we'll never know the canon design of the Mask of Growth. Ah well.
Now Orde and Zaria I'm confused. Will Greg finally decide their Mask powers? Or is it going to be another Hagah situation?
So yeah, I already have my own headcanon for how most of these look (like many of us), so I won't lose sleep for this contest. But I'm curious to see how it goes and I'll be happy to accept any well made winner and integrate them into my headcanon, provided they don't heavily clash with it. For instance, I'd hate to see a Titan-size Lariska win (even if it's probably gonna happen).
I suppose the Kanohi designs are going to be more controversial than the actual builds. I'm not going to take in, but I hope people are smart and choose interesting designs. I'll probably get lynched for this, but I wouldn't mind to see some HF helmets win. Think of Breez's kino helmet becoming a canon Kanohi or faceplate.
