>>6217075When most people talk about Alien 3 having "bad CGI," many don't realize that most of the movie was done with practical effects and/or puppets. However, the movie DOES look like shit. Due to the rather primitive chroma keying tech used to composite the alien into the shots, it tends to look really bad and fake and shitty. This is even worse if you watch it on Blu-Ray, you can clearly see the poorly cut-out edges on the alien and the mismatched lighting. It's a real shame, cause it sounds like they went to a ton of work building a 1/3 scale puppet and having 4-5 people manually operating it in realtime. Having all that effort amount to this shit-looking footage really sucks.
