I'm an anime fan too, and I get there's a bit of a jump between like, a $30 prize figure and a $600 garage kit, but you should consider why you're okay with a $600 garage kit, and then consider that logic with BJD's as well. Artistry, materials, difficulty, intricacy, even brand all can apply to BJD's the same way they do with expensive anime figs.
