>>9036598It is like digging a ditch. All you need is a shovel. But it sure would be nice to have a excavator.
There's a bunch of videos on youtube, and as many methods as there are makers. Edge burnishing especially is addicting. The feel you get off a shiny edge is my anti-drug.
Basically what I do:
1. Place Big Iron on cardboard on it's sights, mark the sight line. From that, roll the blaster to it's side. Draw exact outline.
2. Add sewing allowance. This depends on thickness of dart thrower and thickness of leather. The stitching itself needs 10mm or so.
3. Fold cardboard down the sight line so you have outside and the belt side. Draw belt side and cut pattern out. Using patterns, cut leather out. I like carpet cutting knives, they got beefier handles than craft knives.
4. Mark the stitchline, decorate, dye. Burnish all other edges than the stitchline. If there's a belt loop, stitch that.
5. Contact cement the stitchline, fold closed and stitch. Dye and burnish stitched edge.
6. Place firearm simulator in holster to mold it.
7. Skin that smoke wagon
