>>9560492I didn't say he was phoning it in, i said that he treated it as a job. Most of the people working at Marvel back then were like that, because it was only a job to them. Even Chris Claremont treated it that way too.
It was only with newer creators like Frank Miller, Mike Mignola, Todd McFarlane, Mark Waid, Kurt Busiek and other younger artists came in that you started seeing fanboys working at the comic book companies.
Like with most great writers/artists, you have to put a certain amount of yourself into your work and that's why GI Joe by Larry Hama was so great. Same applies to other older comic greats, but most of them saw it as just another job.
>>9560477Larry Hama continued with his GI Joe story, so of course it's going to end up being like the later run, because that's how it was. I personally like it, because most comics/manga have bonker shit like that.
> the brainwave scanner AGAINWhat the hell is wrong with that? Did you also hate the second Death Star?
Not using a SUCCESSFUL WORKING invention like that is fucking retarded and why i hated a lot of the stupid shitty cartoons from the 80s, because the villain almost takes over the world with his brand new invention, but its usually only luck that saves the world at the end. Then that invention is never heard about ever again.
Why the fuck wouldn't they reuse something that powerful again? Even if there was a flaw, you fix that and use it again.
