The effect would be slightly enhanced if the swords had effects tabs on both sides so as to more closely resemble a obsidian sword/axe.
I wish there were more transformers who had a Mayan/Aztec aesthetic going on. That particular right-angle heavy marking style really lends itself to an ancient-high-tech feel.
