>>11407260Disagree desu, tanks don't really fit G1 Megs as a character. Other versions of him totally get it to work, but they're other versions. (Heck, I'm even saying this as a G2 Megatron fan).
I always liked the idea of G1 Megs's altmode being something that let his underlings get a feel for the power they crave, as a morale boost sort of thing.
So, I honestly think they got it right with their first reinvention of G1 Megatron - that being well, G1 Galvatron: he turned into a stationary cannon. I can't explain it well but an artillery cannon just FEELS like it has much more RAW POWER than a tank, since it needs to be planted in place just to shoot straight. That and, I think it's in spirit with how his gun mode relied on others holding him - you could have the artillery cannon be manned by another Decepticon, too! Again, giving them a taste of power as a morale boost, etc.
So yeah, just un-scifi Galvatron's alt into an artillery cannon/turret, and that'd be my perfect alternative to a gun for G1 Megatron :)
