https://is2.4chan.org/wsg/1686376211395884.webmDo you even recognize what they're doing in that video? NOPE
because if you did, you'd know that's an ordinary UV printer that's been in use by toy companies since the early 00s (as far as i can tell). So whatever Hasbro is naming the process, it's been around for a pretty long time and they didn't even bother using low res prints as a subsitute for paint apps until Bandai did. Even then, the process Hasbro is using was copied off of DC Collectibles.
Here's something you never bothered to even check on your own toys: it's glossy in every area where the low res print exists, because it's from a sticker. If Hasbro were using a UV printer, the entire surface wouldn't be glossy, because the print is spraying the dots exactly where they should go in that low res way and wouldn't be making the unpainted plastic parts inbetween the painted parts glossy
Nevermind UV printers can't fully 3d print, so areas on the side of the head wouldn't be printed, despite many toys having those areas having low res print effects. So how do they encapsulate that low res print all over the entire face? Using a sticker, that's pressed on with either some mask or tampograph. I've only had the process described to me, as i'm not a chinese slave and videos of their slave labour are hard to come by, thanks to corporations censoring those shitty working conditions.
