Yes, the acrylic coat will melt, but that's okay as long as it doesn't run. When the whole thing dries it will become more resistant to rubbing/chipping compared to a regular acrylic coat.
Sometimes melting is a really good thing. Pic related had very exaggerated dark preshading under the brown coat which would have looked bad since the green camo coat covered it and brown didn't. Lacquer melted everything, dark preshading mixed with the brown and became a lot less pronounced (subsequent washes covered up this mistake completely).
