There is a very easy fix, though! Just pull him apart at the waist, it's simply a ball joint that extends from his lower torso and plugs into a socket on his upper torso. Cut a small square of scotch tape just large enough to cover the ball joint (a single layer will do, I tried a double layer of tape and it was too tight!) and place it onto the ball. Plug the ball joint back in and voila, no more loose waist!
Only takes a couple minutes and fixes him right up.
