>>6171413>>6171418>>6171420I'm aware that the TR figures are heavily G1-influenced, that's what I like about them. And no, Bayformers weren't my first by a long shot, I've been collecting since G2. I just loved how complex the ROTF line was so I mentioned it.
I do sort of take exception with "it looks sweet" and "nothing wrong with it" though. I look back on G1 fondly, but I can accept that the engineering back then was mostly pretty primitive, and that some things clearly were a product of that poor engineering rather than a willful choice. I mean, it's pretty telling that when you look at the Headmasters cartoon or official art, Weirdwolf has no paws hanging off his forearms. TR was a chance for Hasbro to fix that old engineering and do it better, and it seems like they just chose to pass on a lot of those opportunities. They could even have engineered a way to fold Weirdwolf's paws up, but also allowed you to leave them out if you wanted them "G1 toy accurate." Best of both worlds, giving us a choice, etc. But they didn't. Like I said, lazy.
