Her brashness has more to do with how she's the chaotic wild card in the story who doesn't take sides unless it benefits her and her Master. She's closer to being the "Dark Horse" of the cast in this regard. Also part of her initial appeal is how she's clearly meant to be the "villain" of Arthurian Legend but her goals/motives are revealed to have been originally well-meaning so you end up sympathizing with her.
