>>8255285>>8256393On one hand, I appreciate the repaints and reprints, since they give latecomers a chance to pick up figures they missed. On the other hand, there are so many monsters that deserve to get figures, but Tamashii hasn’t touched yet. I’m guessing they’re in the same boat as Playmates right now. They are trying to coast by on reselling older models since Godzilla vs Kong got delayed again. The whole coronavirus thing probably made them strapped for cash. I like the new bluezilla, but it’s obviously just a reprint of the poster color version without any paint. That and the Biollante repaint are the most obvious cash grabs. I guess I’m a hypocrite, since I’ll still buy all of them. They still haven’t announced a King Ghidorah 1964, so I guess I’ll just buy a couple of the Chinese bootlegs and try my hand at repainting them. My other two most desired figures would be Megalon and Showa Gigan, but Bandai knows that Godzilla himself will always be the best seller. The only reason they’re doing Bio again is because it became so desirable on the secondary market that it was a no-brainer.
Pic related since it’s a repaint that wound up being much better than the original release.
