And no one said that cartoons are dead, just that it's waaaay more elusive to have the type of cartoon marketting for toylines successes that happened in the 80s and 90s.
And movies have a gigantic audience, hence so many kids buying shit based on movies like Alien, Star Wars, etc etc etc.
This is why every company has ALWAYS tried to get their properties made into movies. A cinematic universe just ties things together, because one film supports the next just by being connected.
