>>7024286I've got a desktop CNC machine, so I cut as many parts as I can out of a 12" x 24" sheet of aluminum at a time. Think it was about 6 sheets total. No interior, the way I fasten things kind of spoils doing an interior properly. Checking when I created file folders and such on my computer, looks like summer of 16 is about when I started.
I did toy with the idea of selling this as a kit, especially when I was unemployed for 7 months. I even picked a company name. But to give myself a 40-50k yearly salary I'd have to be able to churn out all the parts in 5 days, and sell the thing for around 2,000 a pop. And that's assuming I sell everyone I make.
I ended up landing a drafting job party because of this. The wanted a portfolio and I showed them the CAD work, pretty much told them I do this for fun. So it all works out in the end.
>>7024289Yea, I will. I tend to jump from project to project and go in spurts.
Whenever I finish this thing I may leave my hermitage and bring this around to some armor shows.
