The experiment? Yes, sorta.
The suppressing of a certain gene produced a snout in the chicken fetus more similar to a crocodilian of the same development stage with some teeth. The only photo available shows the skull free of flesh or any coverings as the chick was euthanized on purpose for the experiment to study the results. The experiment was just to see if blocking certain genes from activating during development would change the form of the animal to a ‘prior’ design in its genetics. For example, we have a gene that tells our bodies as an embryo to absorb the tail we have early in development and not let it extend from the body as a separate appendage, but a tiny percentage of the population have a mutation that causes the tail to NOT be absorbed into their body and are born with a stubby tail growth from the base of their spine.
