You have to swap the hands around to get the thumbs on the same side. It's extremely simple, only requires a screw driver, and takes like 2 minutes tops.
Quantron is strongest in vehicle mode and combined mode. 3/5 are good in bot mode, the other two are awkward but not terrible. My favorites are Blindfire and Sonic Drill. Blindfire is hands down great and refreshingly simple. Vehicle mode is ace and he's got a good number of weapon options and the posability to make use of it. Sonic Drill is a clusterfuck to transform and may have trouble stand but damn if he isn't incredibly fucking cool looking. He's got a scouter thing, has tiny extra grabby arms, has under-slung guns that transform into his hands, and can stick the drill on his fist for extra fuck-you action.
The combiner itself is nice an sturdy as a rock. There are non-slip pads on the feet and the arm ratchets give you a ton of range to play with. The knees and head are disappointingly limited by design though, but you can work with it to get most of what you want. You may need to use the replacement parts the giftset comes with to keep Sonic drill stable and the waist centered. The biggest weakness of the combiner is how thin the side profile is when he's wielding his death bow and how the death bow doesn't twist with the torso when sitting a backpack. Get the Shadow fisher kit at action robo if you pick up Quantron. Mounting the unused bit of the bow up higher is a crude but extremely good and effective fix not only for the combined mode but for Metal Storm's robot mode too. Allowing the bow to sit higher and turn with the waist allows you to do so much more with the thing. I'd grab it for $200 - $250.
