It was all cool when the cutelittle Dios were cheap, 15$ and you could get 3 of them shipped for like 50$ without much hassle, but these mammoths and gorillas are all 20-25$ apiece, and then they tack on 5-8$ shipping for each one, so buying all 3 mammoths is 80 fucking dollars at amazon even with a combined shipping "discount".

80 buckaroos for three cute but ultimately cheapass chinese toys that sort of transform into a box. And yes, I'm gonna use the "ten cents worth of plastic" argument, because you fucking know it's true. They don't even have to pay licensing fees or anything, so you know these don't cost shit to make.

I feel like they're milking this newfound popularity because they got the stink of urban art toys on them and they think it justifies that kind of pricing.

I'm happy with my handful of dinos. Fuck this shit.

After I bought it, they asked me to "cut them a deal." On a figure I bought at retail and was selling them for exactly what it cost me. And then they tried to get me to pay for shipping. Now THAT'S entitlement.

Thankfully I kept the receipt.

The first one is a part to one of the Robo-Strux rebranding of Zoids from the 80s. Probably the triceratops. It's probably the only piece of one I have left.

The second one is the Hookah from the original ROTJ Star Wars Jabba's Palace Playset, something I thought was lost forever.

The third one is one of the wings from a Robotech (not really) "Robolinks" toy. I need to dig them out and see what else is missing.

As the day went on, I found a bunch of other cool shit -- cardbacks for gobots and a leader-1 puzzle, a box of my sister's she-ra and MLP junk that suffered after decades in the garage, and a few old-ass McDonalds halloween pails.
