>>6970917>>6970885>>6970882Discussions like this are so pointless for these threads but I can say as a literal 30 year old boomer who was too young for the actual original cartoon and only experience with Transformers in my youth being the last two seasons of Beast Wars that watching the original cartoon for the first time, as an adult with no nostalgia and a neutral mindset, was a fucking blast for numerous reasons. If you go into it expecting something of the quality of Real Ghostbusters you're gonna be disappointed for sure but if you accept the simple and blatantly obvious fact Sunbow knew they were making a batshit and bizarre toy commercial then I cannot comprehend people despising it wholesale the way they do.
In fact some of the scenes and episodes are so fucking weird that it brings my enjoyment to a new height of ludo. Case in point, Enter The Nightbird, Megatron and Starscream have their usually pissy arguments when out of nowhere Starscream just punches Megatron to the ground. It really just happens so unexpectedly I couldn't believe it. At this point it feels less like watching a cartoon and more like this is a real tv shoot where the actors have started running amok while the cameras kept rolling. They seize Starscream and put him in a forcefield cage where he simply screeches a prolonged wail for at least a good ten seconds. There's also shit like the cowobys vs biker gang from Dinobot Island part 2, or how when Tracks shows up and starts talking like Disco Stu from the Simpsons in the middle of danger. All of this is clearly supposed to be complete fucking gonzo, comparing it to Adam West Batman really isn't off the mark.
