But I've also seen photos of him with a second insignia sticker, so I'm thinking either I must've left one unapplied, or at some point over the years the second one peeled off.
As you can see, the eighth box on his instructions shows you where to put his stickers. But what's weird is neither Soundwave's nor Starscream's instructions show you *where* to put the insignia stickers (all the other stickers are laid out, but not the insignias). It just leaves it up to you where to stick them. So if your figure doesn't have any, maybe you left them on the sticker sheet since it didn't tell you specifically what to do with them.
