First off, I never specifically said figures, and Japan does make merch for stuff outside of the DM era. DM might still take up the majority of it, but it's nice they at least acknowledge there are parts of the franchise after 2004. KoA does license a fair amount of merch from Blue-Eyes floor mats, Funkos, gold cards, to Adidas, but the key difference is that it's literally all DM era, and that's because YGO flies under the radar for most westerners, like the anon I was replying to.
