The fact that you can buy them individually is a huge plus, since you're not laddened down with stuff you don't like or your characters need.
Also, customization is king, which creates more details that you only see on high end (Little Armory) model kits, since you can add details you couldn't if it was a single mold. Single molds are why GI Joe and Valaverse guns tend to look flat, since the direction of the channels in molds matter (barrels can be threaded or even be open ended).
Mezco guns have working gimmicks because there's more pieces being molded.
Some modern Spawn and the older 00s guns look amazing for that reason.
