buuuut, if something is heavy, it might deform the glass just a tiny bit and can cause the glass to shatter randomly later.
People overload their shelves. Detolf shelves are only rated for 10lbs. Pretty light, yet people do pic.
It won't break right away, but there's microscopic cracks forming and will break randomly one day.
