>>7095366>Maybe you can pull the feet half way out their socket and try to get better range from that?>>7101934>>7102190>Doesn't seem like anyone has tried to modify the articulation yetSo I finally gave in, I'm not the rancor guy but I do agree with him that although I really like my stone troll in general, but I'm extremely disappointed and could not stand the elbow articulation.
I PO'd the Frost Troll, because I like the headsculpt and the BBTS tax on the bigger troll is unacceptable (+75 bucks as opposed to +15 bucks for regular figure). This gives me a leeway in experimenting with the troll figure that I already have.
1. I tried to trim the elbow clearance with an exacto knife. It didn't work
2. I heated the elbow and try to pull it out. You can turn the soft vinyl inside out, but otherwise it's glued shut (pic related). I think I'll tear the vinyl altogether if I pull it harder.
3. This allow me to asses what's blocking the articulation. It WAS NOT the sculpt at all. The stupid joint maxes out at pathetic 45 degrees. even when there's no sculpt in the way.
So if you want to make the elbow bend further, you need to dremel out the elbow socket like the bottom pic. I don't have a 4H forum account, but I hope someone bring this to light. The 4H doesn't need a brand new mold for the troll, they just need a brand new joint with more clearance on the elbow for a better range of motion. It is incredibly frustrating that the elbow joint is a dud. There's already a big joint in the elbow, so we are already paying for it. As a metaphor it's like you bought a car with built in GPS system. So you already paid for it, but the GPS sucks ass and it doesn't work. 4H doesn't need to rework the whole sculpt, just rework the joint. In my car analogy they don't need to redesign the car, just fix the GPS unit which is a small part of the car and I'm sure everyone, including the Rancor guy would be happy for it.
