If you plan to make customs, your first step will be making slopers like these here for an MMS1. Instructions on how to make those are available online. Using a vector drawing softwares, you can then manipulate pretty much any pattern you find in books or places like pinterest to fit on a Shinki.
With that done, only the scale we're working in puts limits on what can be achieved.
