>>7475063What I fucking despise about Japanese trains is that Kato, Microace, and I believe Greenmax all can use pretty much any couplers between them. From memory, that might not be right but I remember being able to install Kato knuckles on a Microace train with no trouble.
Then comes fucking Tomix dicking around with it's massive proprietary couplers that only hook up to other Tomix trains.
In fairness it's been a long time since I did any train related work, it might have changed. And I might have gotten a particular train that does it, but shit.
Generally if I want a locomotive and carriages, I buy Kato. If I want a set that wont change, like the Romancecars, I buy Tomix. Of course I buy Kato sets, but I wont buy Tomix single locomotives and wagons/carriages now.
