>>9676027Got my infiltrators in recently too, they're not as good as the intercessors, QC-wise, but still a lot of fun to play with.
As you can see, I've got some of TMM's prints which I need to paint, if some of our resident paintchads could help me out with some dumb questions that would be good.
TMM mentioned that he found the best colour match to the ultramarines was, unsurprisingly, citadel's macragge blue, so I will probably just buy a handful of different citadel paints. I don't really care about them being small and probably overpriced since I don't have any other use for them than painting these few bits. But I notice there are base and layer paints on the GW website, do I actually need layer paints or should I go all base?
Thinking of trying a bit of drybrushing and using the tamiya panel liner I use for gunpla to do a basic wash, and also coating it with the UK bargain shop version of pledge future floor polish. Couple questions on this:
1) Nuln oil is basically doing the same thing as the Tamiya stuff (I know nuln oil is water based where panel line accent is solvent-based so it will mess with the paint/plastic, but will do the panel lining, if I do it, over the pledge), so no need to buy nuln oil too, right?
2) I don't have an airbrush, can I brush paint the floor polish?
3) What order to do the layers in? Regular paint>drybrush>pledge>Panel liner?
Thanks.
