And mostly covered up. It really doesn't like being photographed any more, some fiddling with the light levels and there's at least some hints of it to be seen here, but unless Amaterasu drops by for a bit of a divine crash course in lighting and photography I guess you'll just have to take my word for it that it's not quite as subtle in reality. To the point where a touch more paint on top might be an idea, fuck knows. Ideally I'd want to see what the panel lining does to it first (

>>6711752Filling and sanding the underside of the turret? Thorough.
>>6711784Stuff that'd naturally be in the shade might benefit from it I guess, as the small size of the model may result in there being far less (noticeable) contrast in the light and shadow play than on a full scale one. Perhaps especially if you're aiming for a "high noon in the tropics" diorama, or some other scenario with quite harsh and directional light.
>>6711788Yeah, I know it ain't everyone's favourite, and it can certainly be taken too far. But I think I'll wait until I get the execution sufficiently past the "horribly inept" level that it may please someone more than just mom (or so she'd claim at least) before I start worrying about pleasing everyone.
