Were you around during the whole Mijne Schaatje debacle? This is clearly not the same thing as being inspired by or referring to photos of dolls (for example, the way the mangaka of Alichino was, who modeled a character on Luts El and was influenced by Luts and Volks in her style; or how Fishcake uses hers as models for paintings, pic related, and several other people on DoA do too). This instead is opening up photoshop, plopping a doll picture in, and playing with vectors, filters and layers for a couple hours.
