It's just constant MMPR remakes. seeing the new line just reminded me of how grating MMPR was. I grew up watching Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, and SPD. I started collecting around the end of bandai and quickly raced to pick up the entire legacy line. I'm probably the only person who though the shiny repaints were cool, because of my naivety. Due to a distribution error, I was the first one to post the lightning collection figures online, here on 4chan, months before reviewers got it, because my walmart fucked up. I'm even the guy from the cringy twitter screenshot begging for male yellow, and getting it only a year later.
I'm incredibly disapointed by playmates toys. It seems like we can never escape MMPR. during those first few years of collecting, I loved MMPR, but I just dont feel that way anymore. I doubt theres any collectors who dont already have a full set of MMPR by now. I really doubt kids care about MMPR specifically, and just like them because all power rangers are cool.
I personally don't see any way for power rangers to grow if they dont tread new ground. Hasbro is a bad shepherd for Power Rangers, and the brand desperately needs to be sold to anyone who cares and wants to take risks. Sublicensing just shows how little Hasbro cares about an amazing franchise with a ton of history.
My biggest fear is PR becoming He-Man. A show stuck in the 80's that can't move past that, and will just re-release whats been done before.
