>>10008461>exclusives before the last 10 years were usually(not always, but usually) side releases like pic related; basically variant colors of characters, or things from side-lines like Universe. That's shifting the topic but still staying to my point even harder, ten years ago was 2012, six years before they filed for Bankruptcy and closed, exclusives were at other stores of all kinds and variety. Agent Venom, one of the first ML Walgreen exclusives pop up in 2013/2014.
I feel it's moving the goal post getting into were they important or not because that gets messy, more so with TFs and cape figures (Like Legacy Meriva is about as relevant to Transformers as just making a medic Elita one). Hell you mentioned Scourge back when the show was on air, what TF show/movie has had an important character tied Target/Walmart/etc only in the past 3 years? In fact all of these exclusives have nothing new or relevant attached to them.
>I could save up for weeks as a kid because I knew I'd find it.That was your area however, not everyone lives where you live, some people had awful TRUs, some had great, but it's a weird take to think that's a TRU thing.
Example, in my area we get glutted with all the exclusives at Walmart, Target, Walgreens, etc and it's rather weird because we only have one of each with in a hundred miles but they get stocked good(we had 5 cases of that newest Walmart Transformers case with Cosmos ffs, I think two of them are still there too). I would never look at that however and assume ALL those stores stock that good. So while it's good you had a good TRU, many here have horror stories of how bad theirs were.
To the heart of my point, places like grocery stores got exclusives toys in the 80s and 90s. Some were more in demand than others but this isn't new nor related to TRUs death.
