You ever feel left out of this hobby? Like you can't afford the nice figures, you get shouted down or flat ignored every time you try to join in a thread? You try to participate but get ignored? I do, I can't be the only one either. Do you just want to chill out and talk about toys, maybe even make a friend or atleast some one to goof off with? Where can we go? I've been silently lurking for years now, and I just can't seem to fit in.

This is literally why Generals exist. People with similar tastes go to the same thread to chat instead of having a million similar-themed threads pop up and die all over the board. Just find something you like, pop in, and start talking/sharing pics. It's really that simple.

Sometimes I post brand new shit and still get ignored. I take nice photos, cool poses..nothing. I really hate getting ignored on here too OP. I’ve noticed that usually if you don’t ask a question you don’t get as much interaction. People on this board will latch on to discussions about the most fringe shit but not engage me. It’s like you’re not part of their discussion.
Also annoying is Transformers threads are right now like 50% bickering about the general.

I'm a bit of an outlier when it comes to even the big generals. I collect mecha but not Gundam(too samey for me), I've been liking Sentinel and Threezero and Soul of Chogokin as well as the occasional Macross release, but those don't really get discussed and get lumped in RD general.
I like transformers but only really Masterpiece(3P and official), and especially Beast Wars, but mainline retail drives TFG and the 3P thread is mostly G1 Legends. I try to post about Transart Beast Wars and it goes nowhere.
I like MOTU but mainly 2003 and MOTUC; 2003 gets almost no homages, and that general hates MOTUC. I'm not a fan of the Origins line(molds look too soft, imo) and I don't hate the newer MOTU cartoons.

I haven't really watched much new anime in the last 5 years so figma is basically out. Not really into modern Kamen Rider so I'll pick up the occasional SHFSS
Actually like Mezco and other clothed 1/12 figures, those never get much traction here and are called dolls.
Kinda burned out on Hot toys and other 1/6 scale figure.
Collect Marvel stuff, but Mafex releases are slow, Marvel Legends are hit or miss, and subjectanon soured people so bad on Toy Biz you can't mention how cool or well done figures from that era was without people shitting on them
And I'm not a snob or anything, I like all kinds of toys, I have $300 mecha toys on the way, but also brought a discounted packet of Bot Bots the other day,

It's not just that iteration of He-Man but a lot of early to mid 2000s media seems to get memory-holed, even by some of us who actually grew up during that time.

A close example similar to He-Man would be the TMNT fandom. If they're not constantly obsessing over the original 80s series it's either the movies or to a lesser extent the 2012 series yet and anything beyond yet when reminded of stuff like the 2003 series they all say "Oh yeah, that was a thing."

All this obsession over 80s and 90s nostalgia I think is having this unintended effect of overwriting a lot of these fan's memories, new and old. At least that's how it feels to me.

Its become a feedback loop. Now kids who grew up in the 90s and the 2000s who experienced that first wave of 80's nostalgia are nostalgic for for properties that were themselves from the 80's; like 03 Ninja Turtles, the UT Transformers, even Teen Titans got a show because of how big that comics was in the 80's. But those iterations get overlooked by later incarnations that companies want to push.
As someone who grew up between the mid90s to the early 2000s, I will say there's a lot of 90's stuff that doesn't get any attention still. Dexter's lab was huge but there's no modern toys.Johnny Bravo was hugely influential but has almost nothing in the way of merch. Digimon only relatively recently started getting more attention. a lot of the popular 90's nostalgia you see is stuff that remained somewhat popular into the 2000's or is attached to a bigger franchise(like Beast Wars)

To be fair the designs don't exactly lend themselves well to making a proper non-statueshit type of figure. Maybe a Nendoroid but that would be the extent I'd feel.

Much as I would fucking love a decent iteration of him in plastic form, today's climate might not take him as kindly as we did when he first arrived. His odd proportions would probably make him a nightmare to pose as well.

Who knows though? Spongebob and The Simpsons are finally getting actual decent figures (at least in terms of articulation) despite existing for as long as they have so I wouldn't rule out the possibility of someone like Super7 trying their hand at some old Nick/CN nostalgia if those companies are willing to play ball.
