no problem I'm currently making my own idea for a Lego theme it’s colonial America with a supernatural twist and backwoods/fur trade focus. The countryside is populated by fur traders, Native Americans, red coats, blue coats and the occasional settler. The sets would be terrain and brick built monster based, with examples of the monsters being giant snapping turtles, Loup Garous, Wendigos, Thunderbirds, Bigfoot and other monsters from Fur Trader and Native lore. The final big bad is an army of undead Norse draugr.

I do very little sorting, but the little sorting I do is by function. I build 99% mechs, so I have a few cups with supplies: 1 for joint pieces, 1 for studs on side plates, 1 for "interesting" pieces, and a bag for minifigs, accessories, and weapons. I keep everything else in a storage cubby that I can dump out because it has a built in liner that can pull out. I usually build a mech frame first, then sit on the floor like a kid with a ton of lego all spread out on the cubby built in liner. My kids usually join in when they see me on the floor and start building random things if their own, and we talk about their day and the things we're trying to build. Also, touched up my ghoul mech.

Initially I had sorted by color but I switched to part function You would go blind staring into a big pile of black parts looking for part just takes longer to find things and more sub divisions.

-brick
-brick modified
-plate
-plate modified
-technic
-tires + misc
-walls Doors Panels
-Minifigs + accessories
-Transparent pieces , windows ,windscreens

If you get a bigger collection or more storage space you can sub-divide further.
Divided by color only makes sense for big parts big bricks and plates etc

Yeah, as I was posing them I found this to be a problem. It's weird because it's just the air respirator that is molded in such a way to not allow movement while the other figure helmets have the molded outwards. I dunno if it's to hide the fleshie necks because I notice these new bigger helmets hide fleshie heads really well. Doesn't really matter tho cus I swapped all my stormtroopers to black heads and snow troopers to white heads. Have sand blue for my ATAT drivers but now not sure if I should have gone light blue grey.

Maybe check if you have any pieces or parts worth any money. Of my 3 brick link orders I wanna say I've bought more pieces than figs. It's nice being able to find a seller that has a cheap fig I want but also has a lot of generic pieces where I'm like "ah yeah I can get this fig plus generic piece colors for mocs".

Maybe try to sell some bricklink stuff and if it doesn't sell I guess go for 1 lb bulks.

It helps if you log pieces from the outset. I have two separate inventories and storage systems, a rebrickable one for ~50k of my personal pieces, and another ~80k on bricklink. When I started selling it was really easy to move several thousand parts over from my personal log because it was logged in the first place. The biggeat headache is keeping track of all the part variations.

I intend to buy/build a warehouse and build a MOC of the entire Lego universe, utilizing every set ever made. As long as it has a set number, and its made of lego, it will be in the MOC. I will start with the oldest lego sets and work up the years. I will buy two of each set— one to utilize completely within the moc, and one to keep as spare parts to use however I want. It will basically be every lego set ever, the entire LEGO universe

I will build more than just towns. I will build entire worlds, and utilize every minifigure, theme, and set ever made. I will even utilize the keychains and fridge magnets within it somehow. It will be possibly the largest and most expensive LEGO moc ever created.

I won a (hopefully) mostly complete 6250 Cross Boner Clipper on ebay for fucking cheap and it arrived today. When the guy was preparing to ship it he messaged me and asked if I would prefer it be shipped built (as it was in the photos) or disassembled. Of course I prefer my used sets to arrive disassembled and I told him its fine if he needs to take it apart to ship it, I am going to take it apart anyway when it gets here. So he says "Sounds good! Krautfag here. Wanted to tell you about something weird that has been happening lately.
You might know Held der Steine (Hero of the bricks) a german channel on youtube about lego set reviews.
He's basically the german Jang. His early videos at least. Around 2018 he became noticably jaded and cynical.
But his criticism was reasonable. Fast forward to now where he's basically bashing lego products 24/7 and ignores anything remotly positive about a set or theme.
Now you're probably asking why I'm telling you all this and why I care about some random on the internet doing videos.
Well. A large amount of his viewers can't form their own opinion and don't think for themselves. So everything he says is *fact* to them.
Go anywhere on the german internet where lego is discussed and you will have some retard repeating his points and opinions. It's tiresome.
It has become so bad that even Jang got flak for reviewing certain sets coming from his german viewers.

Yea, that's me. I have quite a few sets from the theme. Overall, I'd say >>10021436 has a solid list. I'd just add Mei's Hirse Jet and the MK Team Van to the SS Tiers, and the Dragon of the East to the S tier. The only MK set I didn't really like was Sandy's Powerloader Mech, so I did a heavy retool on it and love it now.

Picrel is my MK collection. Keep in mind, half of it is made up of MOCs. Also, season 2 is where things start to get really good, and season 3 and the finale of the show are pretty epic. If you're just trying to get the base cast, then the MK Team Van and Nezha's Fire Ring are good sets to start off with. Tang is a pain in the ass to get a hold of, but I got the Dragon of the East set and just use him in his underwater suit.

Well, someone had to bite the bullet and get one of those Spider-Man figures.
That Venom really IS a pretty good parts pack for mechs but the figure itself left a lot to be desired.
His stature reminds me an awful lot of that K-2SO CCBS figure and looks absolutely awkward with his low head that despite being on a balljoint can't really move sideways, wide but not really thick torso, and ridiculously long clown-shoe feet.
I tried to improve him with the parts from the set and he now looks way better, imo.
Oh, and the prints? Yeah they're as bad as you'd expect from Lego trying to print white on black - the tone is closer to the gray of the ballsockets than the white of the bricks on the side.

I don't think Lego makes tires that smooth. The middle part is probably 2x2 round tile with technic pin hole in it. And then the tire is just fantasy, those Pirellis with the white stripe are second hardest slicks for F1 cars and I don't there's an actual part resembling that. Nice build tho

I have never bought any of the printed stuff, but the injection molded stuff is pretty consistent in quality across the board for BrickTactical, BrickArms, and BrickForge. Pretty sure they all use the same molding process and plastic type as Lego.

What do you guys think about minecraft legos? I got two sets, I feel like they’re not that great. They can’t fit in with my other lego display because they’re just so aesthetically different and the minifigs can’t really be swapped around in sets. They are easy to combine with other minecraft sets though. Generally I don’t like landscape/building sets so maybe I’m biased.

The minecraft theme puts out fine playsets, but it really shines in the hands of terrain-oriented MOCers. A few people on jewtube have decent series making high quality minecraft builds. I totally get if you're not into terrain why the theme is significantly less interesting.

I spent YEARS working in elementary classrooms with little kids (age 5-10), and every time the Legos came out, I could guarantee what was going to happen. The boys would immediately start constructing two things: fortresses, and weapon-laden vehicles to attack the fortresses.

The girls would dig all the horses out of the Lego tub and immediately start building stables for them. Usually there would be a wounded horse and the girls would make a big deal out of how they had to help nurse the wounded horse back to health. If the horses were all being used by other kids, a house with a mother, father, and child would be built and the girl would roleplay taking care of the child.

I have 2 daughters. Both of them hate "regular" lego stuff, but go absolutely ape shit for friends stuff. This is despite me trying to pursue them into themes like Lego City, Creator, and some Ninjago stuff. Believe it or not, girls tend to gravitate towards the stuff Friends does. Scala wasn't a lego theme, Scala was almost whole different brand.
It was houses and horsestalls, it was basically a dollhouse that was more expensive than barbiedolls without offering anything interesting.

What I meant was that there were no actual colorful or fun lego themese before Friends, the last one was Paradise, so how would Lego know that it would've flopped without the minidoll?

Look at this set.

This is why Friends is based. As a 100% heterosexual who isn't afraid or disgusted by vaginas I can easily say Friends is a great theme because not only do you get interesting playsets but you get interesting accessories and pieces for mocs. The only thing bad with it is that for the most part the bricks are usually magenta or line green or other stuff that doesn't fit other themes.

I was generally talking about how colorful and creative Friend sets are compared to sets that came before them which explains why non-friends sets are unpolular with girls. That's what makes them appeal to girls, not the minidolls.

Look at these two camper vans that came out one year apart. Without minifigs I would choose the one on the left because it just looks like more fun, it has more character.

On the subject of friends though, it has some great builds even if the scale is a bit off for minifigs sometimes. The Friends recycling truck comes with 3 different colours of bins and 3 sections on the truck. It's cool. The buildings are just facades most of the time, but so are all the City ones.

Yeah maybe. I spent an hour taking it apart. I've got it in piles of colors now. I just don't have the urge or drive to build something out of it. It sucks because I had this feeling back in 1994 when I turned 12. Lego didn't interest me anymore. I thought this set would take me back, since it's the first one I've seen since then that interested me.

See, to me this just solidifies why we need both. I much prefer the aesthetic and build of the camper on the right. I would simply appropriate the colors and a few play features from the one on the left. How would you feel if City just incorporated more colorful or "non-showroom" aesthetic? Current City looks like an auto brochure where everyone lives in a fauxtopia of shiny perfect products.

I have not decided it yet. I just want to add a bit of decoration to the Mario sets. It feels a bit empty just having them build up with nothing around it.

Sure. Generic mario definitely gives you a lot of room to play around with bits and pieces from anywhere you like. I think your holy build trifecta for a solid diorama would be the platforms here, those domed hill boyes as a thin backdrop, and a few clouds. After that you could probably just air-drop in enemies and items from your other sets or let inspiration be your guide.

Kinda annoyed by how like half the lego castle minifigures have lion, dragon, and crown sigils.

Like if they all had different animals I could pretend they are different houses or factions.

But instead I have like 3 different varients of fucking lion armor with diferent colors.

Not sure about the smaller whip antenna at center or the chain but all the rest are Mega Construx - those "rubber hairs" have been used as spikes on the back of Hunters, among other things.

If you really want to do it right, you use a different shield design for *each* knight or noble. Give him 1-5 (depending on his wealth) full-time men-at-arms who wear his badge and guard his home, then let the rest of those poor sods get back to their homes in time for harvest.

nah, the shit I like arguably just as cringe, I like 90's/early 00's JDM stuff. not into lambos/raris/supercars and that kind of shit. but even besides that, the countach is actually a piece of shit, it really isn't even that fun to drive. When i was a kid it bent, if you tried to break a plane it did slowly, showing strech marks. It was just better, more durable plastic

These new ones snap as if they would've been designed to crack.

Lego just stopped being a quality toy, it's a cheap an overprices like an iphone.

I think I should be out, I barely rejoined after 15 years and come back to this?

Well yeah, Lego uses some bad plastic mixes. I think they just use clear abs pellets and mix it with colors to make it cheaper.
Though some colors are obviously worse.

Dark red, dark blue, dark green, gold, brown and dark brown, new coral red
>discoloration
White, light grey, dark grey, red, blue

Which is weird to me as I have some really old Mega Bloks Dragons grey Wall pieces and they didn't turn yellow at all.
The gold plastic Mega uses is also sturdy
