>>10043712>>10044349This reminds me of that bullshit Extra Credits video about how "it's time to stop letting people play as bad guys in war games, because it makes bad people in real life happy." Not being able to have toys of the Germans in a WW2 themed toy line is the same mindset. Might as well not even let kids play with Cobra or the Galactic Empire, or even Joker for all they care. I totally understand not including any nazi imagery on the German soldiers, and that's a fair compromise, but saying "no German soldiers at all" would be a total pussy move and it's peak "We did it boys, we stopped racism."
It's too bad the 2000s line never got around to making the Flying Wing and it seems even less likely this time around because Hasbro can't into vehicles anymore unless they do it as a Haslab project. I'd be happy just to see re-iussues of the old toys, hopefully with a default Indy that doesn't suck or require you to kibash one together from like 4 different figures. I want to get into the 3.75" line at some point but it'd be great if I don't have to pay vintage eBay prices, and the vehicles are more or less out of my price range unless my income situation improves.
I think the safest bet is that Hasbro will announce a run of 6 inch figures based on the movies. They've never done it before, and 6" has been all the rage for the last decade. We might even get a motorcycle + sidecar for Indy and Henry Sr. to ride in, although that's my most optimistic scenario. Hopefully they focus on the original movies with minimal Crystal Skull and Indy 5, because you don't need to be a movie industry insider to smell a stinker that big from a mile away.
