The ability of flight is key here, if it's something that can stay in mid-air briefly but can't sustain being in the air for an extended period of time it doesn't count. they're pretty good. plastic quality is good but it's abs rather than ps, no worse than koto plastic. part tolerances are fine, everything fits with no adjustments. the mould lines are pretty prominent and seem even moreso due to the small size of the model, so you definitely need to scrape/sand those. you get prepainted heads if you just want to snapshit but they also come with blanks for you to paint yourself

I think this is the one that convinced me to get this KO line. They took a really awkward alligator type zoid with scrunched up legs and no fucking neck, and changed it into a bitchin mosasaur.
the gimmick (the head extends out and then the entire head and 'neck' split open like a giant jaw) is dumb, but it works okay as a death-ray mode.
Ima call it Gobrasaur
had a classic model building moment where I forgot one piece and had to go the fuck back and disassemble the whole thing. We've all done that, right?

nta but any tips for keeping the stupid tail in it's hole? The kit is really solid especially with glue but the stupid tail likes to fall out constantly and I can't use plastic cement since it's wire.

ACKSHULY Char's Zakus have slightly different details, such as different leg thrusters, backpacks and chest pieces. And his decals. And they usually come out at the same time in the same line as the generic zaku, instead of using a 12 year old kit.

These larger grooves on the wings of Tallgeese Fluegel seem a little too wide for panel liner. So paint? Black, grey, goldenrod to match the other goldenrod peices? Or just leave it?

The t-rex is a lot smaller than I expected. I guess it's based on the Gilraptor frame, not the Death Rex. But it has much better looking armor and proportions than either, so I'm happy! and since I wanted to call it Gladius Rex anyway, being a little smaller makes sense. just weird seeing it smaller than the pachycephalo
the weirdest feature is probably that the eyes slide around in the skull as the mouth opens (hiding them from view with the armor on). It reminds me of how old tyranno restorations they didnt know which skull socket to put the eyes into
also the foot armor kinda restricts the sculpted-but-not-articulated toe joint so you can't even pretend it could do a fully extended running leg..
Hilarious chinese instruction text includes the nebulous "Warth cut" with an arrow pointing to his head, and "ticktock" to indicate 'this part clips on with a click'
The boosters have a pointless ability to rise (thrusting him downward), but in fairness most Zoids Wild back-mounted stuff seems to have the wrongest angles. Guns that can't point forward, etc. And the side blades do lock nicely into a useful side position, so I'm overall happy.

you probably could fix the bike fit by extending the seatpost. the goal is when seated, the angle behind the knee to the hip should be about 140° (straight leg and you will overextend the knee, too much angle and you are not getting a full power stroke). I don't think the forward bike fit might be as bad as it seems as anime girls have short torsos. a seated position with her hands on the brake hoods (not the lower horns) would tell a bit more.

Anyone get their RG God Gundam yet? More specifically, has anyone found a good third-party waterslide decal for it yet? USAGS has one for sale but it's just called a "decal" and doesn't say if it's waterslide or not. EBay has a few from Chinese sellers but I don't trust off-brand chinese shit on ebay as far as I can throw it.

Thanks, I didn't actually know about those sites, this'll be the first kit I buy 3rd party stuff for. I didn't see anything on G-Rework but Delpi had one, their decals look very high-contrast but they're probably okay.

This is not going to be a quick build.

Nice thing about Quick Setting cement is that you can sand welded seams after 10-20min.

I just bought the usual HGUC RX78-2 Revive as my first set. I have nippers and an xacto knife and some modeling files for nub removal. Am I going to be fine or should I get multiple grits of sandpaper as well?

if the files are equivalent to say 800 to 1000 grit, you should be fine, but I recommend having 800, 1000 and 1200 at a bare minimum (in file or paper forms, but paper is nice for rounded parts)

You will be fine. Look up nub removal technique's using a x-acto blade, its my go to and honestly after a little practice it makes sanding almost unnecessary, especially on the white of the RX78-2. When you do sand be gentle, its easy to scuff up parts and have them look like shit

and I invested in a set of Godhand PN-120, which I’ve only just read the instructions for. Barely need the xacto when I use them.

But with the xacto method, trim as close as you can with nippers, then gently and evenly shave with the xacto. If uou leave a white mark, rub it with the edge of a fingernail and it’ll usually go away.

This last one is actually 'zikhoobusik' branded instead of Boley (Though the brands are just stickers) and I have noticed the plastic seems stiffer than before. some pieces fell right out of the sprues (pretty sure one is straight up lost, gonna have to see if they'll replace it for me)
the eyes aren't properly vac chromed, their color is still a transparent spray onto some rather mild silver plastic. which is odd because the silver sprue IS painted, with the underlying color being translucent off-white (The kind of thing you used to see a lot underneath vac-metal)

anyway to the actual kit,
The eye moves weirdly in the skull in this one too, this time the eye APPEARS when the mouth opens instead of the other way around. baffling. There also appears to be a gun in the roof of the mouth, but it's not able to deploy as far as I can tell. It's at the same latitude, so to speak, as the eyes, so there was no chance of it being visible. It must be a holdover from the original original zoid it was based on, because this frame's already been re-used once by Tomy. also the tomy archaeopteryx type this was based on was smart enough to replace the arms with guns, but I actually like the way this one has 6 limbs (well, mine has 5 for now). They actually rigged up wing feathers on the smaller arms that flip outward for no reason. maybe it's a shield unit, I dunno. Whereas the actual wings have one pretty useless flip-out feather, but it looks good at least, unlike the kit it's ripping off. Said wings are held onto the by approximately nothing (but there are two spare caps which fit on there, so I think they just forgotthe boosterlike (no visible nozzles or anything) pack once again flips up a little which serves no purpose. and when turned on, the wings move but not in anything resembling flapping.

I saved this one for last because I thought it'd be my favorite, but I can't recommend it. the wing folding joints feel like they're definitely going to eventually break

Scored one at a shop recently, was pretty suprised and yea I asked the owner the same about slides and hes unaware of any yet. He did say Bandai has been trying to print them sooner then later due to them losing a few bucks from 3rd party sellers. Honestly 3rd party are all I buy unless its a Ver Ka, which usually has them. Needs to be standard practice, they cant cost much at all to produce, its basically a damn temporary tattoo we all had as kids

And anon, grab a sheet of waterslides for cheap off Ebay and try them, you will never go back to stickers. They are such a better option, Basically look painted on. Then there is the very rare dry transfer decals which you never see. Only kits ive come across that had em were the MG Epyon and MG Astray blue frame D. Those also look damn good. I actually really enjoy the application step, feels like im making the kit my own as I tend to mix different decals from my collection

Don't do this >>10053760. I did when I was getting into the hobby, now I wish I'd just flattened the box lids like I do now from the beginning. You'll want those sides with little blurbs and pictures. To me, they're part of the overall art. Just carefully undo all the tabs, fold them up if you need them to stay uniform in your folder, and maybe keep the instructions on the back with a little scotch tape.

Depends on where the nubs are.
It works for ship railings like >>10055942 said because the connection points are mostly hidden. If you are literally talking about your pic related, painting on the runners would not save you much time.

Nah thats usual for sales prices. Problem is tomytec does short prints for these diocol/ diocom sets so they go out of stock and go to discontinued. Theyre pretty nice though and worth it if youre not sure. Scale to hg perfectly. Alternatively tomytec makes train model stuff primarily and most of the diocom buildings are repaints of their n scale train stuff.

I am trying to remember two old kits I had as a kid. They were sd gundam and I thought they were part of the BB senshi line, but I couldn't find them going through a database. They were two, three packs. Two boxes with 3 sd gundam each. One they all had swords and the other they all had gun. I think they had clear plastic, I can't remember anymore. Those were actually good figures. Zako is my personal favorite. My msia collection still holds up pretty well 20 years later too. Despite some flaws it was nice having most anything you could thinknof made. Gallop,bigro,gunperry,nu and sled. That is still some good stuff the models are catching up to, or took so long to catch up.

I have some flow-type panel liners, and will be panel lining for the first time. It seems like, according to guides I found online, I need four things:

If you bought Gundam marker pour types clean up the excess paint with q-tips with a small amount of lighter fluid. Let the paint dry for 10 minutes minimum but 15 is better.

If I counted properly, the Salamis class should be like 1.5/1.6 meters in 1/144 scale.

And if I do, I mostly play with my Vita, that doubles as a GBA, SNES, PS1 and PSP; and my 3DS, that doubles as DS too. One big improvement the Zeta Ver Ka will have that you didnt mention is it will have a big sheet of waterslide decals that Ver Ka kits come with. The Zeta 2.0 MG came with 2 small sheets of stickers and a small sheet of dry transfer decals.
