I’ve been coming to this board the last few weeks and it’s fucking awesome. Seeing the collections makes me get that inner kid excitement again. I was wondering if you guys just use the toys as decorations or do you actually play with them?

Depends on what you count as playing. I'd call mine decoration for the most part, but I like putting them in different poses and keeping a few cheaper/older ones on my desk to fiddle with all day. I don't act out fantasies or make them fight but I pose them throughout the day when I'm bored.

I don't deny anything.
Out of what you'd normally call playing, and how I tend to collect the figures. They fall more under decoration.

But I'd expect such an obvious distinction to be missed by some anime poster.

I do both.
Most my toys are for looking nice and admiring from a distance. I take them off the shelf and play around with them in my hands, like rotate it, move some parts, etc. Afterwards I will place it back onto the shelf.
I have several toys that are smaller, cheaper, and generally more robust that I play with. By play, I mean doing the whole 'swoosh!' sound effects, or setting up a little RPG style battle, or building something, etc.

Half decoration half playing, with the latter being simply interacting with the toy's features, accessories and so on. I collect transformers and sentai and I usually take them re-pose, transform, and combine them.
