Also, original Starting Line-Up figures were super cheap, used about 3-4 molds and three-four head sculpts (a running joke about Starting Line-Up was how they didn't resemble the players period) and once they realized how bad the original distribution scheme was, they cut the number of figures being made to about 20 per year per sport instead of around 60 per year per sport and only focused on popular characters and popular teams.
Ironically these fuckers would sell way better if they did that rather than trying to remake them as Marvel Legend type figures. Cheap and goddy looking yes, but for the nostalgia buyers out there they'd sell very well.
