You know, even if the earlier figures are super dated by today's standards I maintain Revoltech itself is one of the most important/revolutionary lines around and was basically the catalyst for collector figures getting good.
>Combined bespoke sculpts with full articulation (compared to stuff like McFarlane which had really wonky or borderline useless joint setups, or Microman which were mostly the same body with a few extra parts)
>Introduced the idea of "generic" universal joints used throughout a figure line and providing most of a toy's articulation, an idea subsequently adapted slightly by Figma and gradually evolved by Kaiyodo themselves
>Majorly pushed the envelope for articulation
>Effectively created the modern import style figure, priced higher than a domestic toy but still far more affordable than a statue or "super-premium" figure
>Covers a huge range of subjects, from mecha to toku to Buddhist gods
>Construction style (universal joints connecting the parts together) used by many other lines to this day
>Even some of the oldest Revoltechs are still fun toys by today's standards
Seriously, I think they more or less redefined the entire industry, or at least our particular niche.
