They should make a Dispensor that is like a superhero/shill for the fictional HasPop soft drink company. The head would have a mask modelled on the original's head, but a humanlike mouth underneath.
Would say things like "Strength is justice! Without justice, you Autobots will never prevail!" and "You deserve a refreshing drink. As the emissary of HasPop, I grant you this!" These drinks are should as awful tasting/poisonous to Transformers, but keeps giving them to allies. They also work as ranged weapons from a can cannon. Each appearance would expand his brand without telling where these new guys are coming from. Examples would be like Dispensor II who is so similar looking he seems to be a running change, brooding antihero Dark Cola Dispensor, fun loving musician Funky Orange Dispensor, token girl Diet Cherry Dispensor, Fizzle the Dispensor Dog, and finally his greatest enemy Nemesis Dispensor. Nemesis Dispensor is also powered by soft drinks, but this mysterious red and blue warrior fights as an Autobot and has weird things like antennae and a facemask.

I was almost you as well and was going to report Walmart when it went up at 11 today but 2 minutes later sold out and 2 more minutes later the listing was gone. Didn't even look at Pulse where they usually go faster.

I've surprisingly found him three time without trying. The first being back at the end of July on a Sunday midday. I think the issue is if you have at least a few people in your area that wants him it puts the screws down. I mean, say you have five Walmarts and they all got one case. Was it Scalpers or more the fact five+ people wanted him on top of you? It's also why I think he will start to glut. You can't army build him so once they start catching up for the Holidays everyone is getting one.

True, I know of a few collectors but we all have wildly different interests. I'm sure there are resellers in my area, they always talk/stalk the associate near toys. Last time I checked looking for cosmos he was cherry picked, 2 of everything else left.

I've seen multiple Cosmos at all the local Wal-marts, multiple times. Not as many as the other shelfwarming garbage, but he's definitely there.

Look at those horns. They're not pinned. Hell, in most promo pics they're barely staying on at all. They're the usual cheapass Hasbro friction sandwich pins, and there is no window on that box.

I'm a 21-y/o zoomer who never sat down to watch all of G1 (only seen the movie and a few eps), and Cosmos is one of my favorite "original" Transformers. Tomy doesn't give a fuck, they only worry about the 3 or 4 unique molds they make per year now. I wish Takara hadn't been killed by the brand "merger"(buyout) in Japan. We'd still have competent designers, Japan-only exclusive decos, no Bay shit... good times.

The original toy literally has his face visible on top of his dragon ass. Also super stumpy robot proportions. And a "puppet rod" gimmick that doesn't work thanks to a misassembly. And a really shitty third mode.
I like BW toys and there are things the new one could have done better but this is still a net improvement.

Okay, so I have the purple G2 Legends Megatron that I'm using as a more modern Archforce. What Optimus Prime would make a good stand-in for G2 Sureshot? I see you keep the backpack untransformed as one solid chunk, that's a pretty good idea. Not really sure what they were thinking having the wheel arches swing down right behind the arms

even without his issues I think Dragstrip just wins it out for me.

It’s weird, a lot of zoomers don’t start out liking G1 designs. Usually it’s more bayverse designs or things from pre-WFC chug lines but then an issue arises; clashing aesthetics. A lot of zoomers are anal and love completion for collections for example.

For instance, I wanted to complete the 86 movie cast out of pre-WFC figures but couldn’t because FOC grimlock and wreckgar were too short and hotrod just was bad so I decided to complete the 86 cast, I’d buy newer chug figures from WFC, and that led to a rabbit hole where if I wanted to make a new collection, I got newer figures and that pretty much made me enjoy the g1 aesthetic more than anything else

Those zoomers started off with UTshit and a majority have become brain-dead retards who can't accept that it was a shitty trilogy that nearly killed the franchise until Bay came in and saved it. However there's been a recent influx of them rejecting UTshit and embracing G1. Hasbro has been doing a lot of G1 updates lately and they're all very good so it's not a big surprise to see them to and aspire to be TRUE Transformer fan than be a false one.

Outta curiosity can you define what you mean by "zoomer kids" in this case specifically? Like, we talking teens, actual kids, what; "zoomer" is a bit too wide-encompassing now.
Regardless though, I mean, easy: G1's simultaneously the first (and therefore in most cases, "definitive") versions of these characters, so already if you're not attached to any particular show/universe then you might drift to G1 as you see it as the default.

On the other hand, while I can't speak for others, I occasionally get G1 figures because I am an extremely fucking desperate TF Animated fan and it's the closest goddamn thing I can get to cartoony TF toys today that wasn't Cyberverse (I'm the 21-y/o you replied to ftr) - that being said, I can imagine younger fans who got into it through Cyberverse would find G1 toys visually appealing too, maybe same for Prime fans even if they likely lean closer to Bayformers aesthetics in preference.

But yeah. Please god give us new TF Animated figures, I'm literally starving here.

'99 zoomer here, my first toys were mostly Cybertron stuff, but I was introduced to G1 through a combination of the 20th anniversary DVD of the Movie (and I watched the fan commentary, so that introduced me to fan sites like TFW) and the release of the Classics line in 2006. The first Bay film coming out a year later really solidified my fandom, and I prefer all three facets of the franchise roughly equally. The overwhelming prevalence of G1 made me chafe, but I didn't want to see it go away completely, either.

You could find on stores shelves the following: Masterpiece, Alternators, Universe, Cybertron, Commemorative Series/Reissue, Go-bots, Attacktix, Beast Wars 10th Anniversary, Classics, Star Wars Transformers Crossover, and Titanium series. And that was all before the films made demand explode into nuclear fire.
What do we have now? Studio Series, Legacy, Cyberverse which will get phased out by Earthspark and Buzzworthy if you want to split hairs. And again, what we have gotten all year was like a quarter of a year for 2006

Cybertron ended before Classics, Playskool Go-bots died in 2005. Universe by 2006 was just repacked figures in closeout/budget stores and not new decoes.

Right now there's also the BW reissues and Buzzworthy has been running for years. And you have to factor in just how many big ticket items we get per year. Like most toylines would have three Leader molds tops, 1 new Supreme, and thats it.

Really, I find it much more overwhelming to be a completion on these lines as an adult than I did Cybertron as a kid. I had a $20-30 allowance I used to buymost of the entire Cybertron line across 2 years. I skipped some repaints but mostly had 1 mold from the entire line. Now exclusives alone make this damn near impossible.

Online is a different story, Kingdom Blaster was never hard to get there and even now the Kingdom version commands a price under $30, Preceptor has been up and in stock many times for full weekends without hassle. The only figure so far that has been hard to get was Amazon Terrorsar, he got stocked a lot but cleared out within minutes everytime, Cosmos might be joining him but it's too early to tell. Today's market is nothing like 2010 where several figures were very hard to find (Strafe, Grappel, G2 Prime, Deep Dive, Chopsaw, Lugnut, etc) because so much inventory was being made in that time frame, hell whole waves were being canceled because they were making so many Transformers. As someone who grew up in that hellscape of collecting I'll happily take this system of having everything preorder and relaxing with causal store shopping.
