I own both and I still think the Figuarts is better. The color scheme is better on the black series though.

I think the Hasbro mace windu was also pretty close to the import in quality but those days are long gone with how Hasbro is treating the black series.

the WCT $20 Venusaur absolutely mogs the shit out of the Darts/Figuarts import.

i personally like the select Charizard better than the figuarts one(which goes for like $200) as well, but the arguement can be made based on what you prioritze. the Venusaur though is just a complete and brutal mog.

I think Bandai has really stepped it up recently with paint applications on unmasked faces. The sculpts aren’t necessarily better but the Figuarts of Spider-Man and Boba Fett actually look like Tom Holland and Temura Morrison instead of some kind of wax museum version.

Only one that really crosses my mind is the s.h.monsterarts 62 Godzilla vs the neca 62 Godzilla that released around the same time.
It's close but it was a mixture of Bandai dropping the ball and neca putting out the best godzilla they ever did
