As a kid I valued K'Nex and these types of sets way higher than Lego because of price to sheer mass. You could build this stuff in Lego, if you didn't want to buy a single other thing ever.

These sets were amazing! They had a variety of panels that could be used to make your buildings look different. They were fun to crash your Shogun Warriors or Godziilas thru. Scaled nicely with Hot Wheels cars. They were fun!

I got that set for Christmas. I'm surprised anyone else remembers it. I remember there was a lighting kit available for it but I never had it.

I knew a guy in the 90s who was working on a toy based on this idea and almost got it funded and all that legal paperwork out of the way and a toy factory lined up to start making it, and it was also a game based on demolishing a building by removing the least amount of supports, but then 911 happened...

I bought some of these as a kid at a garage sale. The panels were all crumbly and falling apart. Must have been around 2005. I'm afraid to go check on the box.
