God i hope so. I happen to see that the big comic con was happening and I looked at ebay to see if there was any exclusive shit worth having and it was page after page of nothing but fucking funko pops. Why are adults are buying these ugly plastic sculptures in this awful fragile shitty boxes? Is it somehow less embarrassing to have these weird baby toys in boxes rather than an actual toy collection? I don't get it. They're not even cheap is the worst part. Fuck comic cons too i forgot what hell those have become

and now they're literally buying kids meals to get these toys that are not even in a display box. At some point they will have people sucking cock to completion and in return be hit in the head with a plastic pop art stature and they will beg for the opportunity

Honestly, probably yes? I would assume that to a vast majority of "normal" people, toys are still seen as childish while Funkos are seen as collectibles so even if it's dorky, it's more mature and seen as more of a viable investment.

Anything is a "collectable" but these things are just trash that people display. They're not even a conversation piece like an actual collectable Godzilla or Gundam or something. It's all pop culture trash. I cant see the appeal of these things and it seems like even normies are getting woke on these things being embarrassing to own

Yeah its weird. I found two of these things in the house i bought and my husbands sister begged for them and I know she doesn't collect anything but she saw an "exclusive" Big Bang Theory funko as a valuable object. It reminds me so much of the way people at garage sales would behave selling Hot Wheels and Beanie Babies. Lording over them like dragons on gold and still clinging to the idea their collector phase was an investment instead of a mass psychosis event

I hope Funko doesn't go out of business anytime soon. I would like if they cut back a little bit on Funko POP figures though. There are way too many that come out way too quick imo. In place of that, I'd prefer they focus on stuff like their Mystery Minis and Paka Paka lines. Recently they made a cool line called SNAPS for FNaF with playsets and later a carrying case. Stuff like that I think is where Funko excels at. It feels like POPs just got really popular and became too big to ignore. Don't get me wrong, I do buy a few POPs here and there on rare occasions (like the Killer Klowns, thinking of getting pic related next). The sculpts are limited to the proportions and POP eyes. Whenever they make one that doesn't look like a POP is when you can see the skill at hand. And for $10 or $20, it isn't too bad.
